To achieve efficient mobility, it is essential to use technology to support mobility policies, in order to capitalise on the digital transformation and achieve a more efficient mobility system; this requires a commitment to smart infrastructure management, which facilitates the automation of transport management and planning.
The road of the future will be equipped with sensors, will be smart and capable of communicating with the connected vehicles travelling on it. Various sensors and cameras installed in the infrastructure will enable its condition to be monitored, information to be generated and sent to a system so that infrastructure managers can view and analyse it and, if necessary, issue alerts and warnings to vehicles using the road.
At the LSI, we are working on the design and development of systems that will be capable of analysing and managing traffic via the infrastructure in order to improve mobility management in our cities.
